It was a proud trainer moment for me. I had a text conversation the other day with a camper (that’s what I call my clients), and it felt good to hear that what I was preaching finally sank in for her.
“My mantra is “Stay Positive & Keep Practicing” … just the fact that we’re practicing means we’re trying to get better.”
And that should be our mindset every time we go to workout. I believe it settles the nerves and expectations. And, as you get started, or before you even show up, you can be like, “I’m gonna kill it today!” or you may arrive thinking “Whew, not sure what’s gonna happen today.”
Either one is “Okay”… the bottom line, and what’s truly important, is CONSISTENCY. Intensity, motivation, mood, soreness, drive, etc, etc, etc… will always be different.
BUT, do your best to stay positive, and realize, “I’m practicing, and the definition of practicing is to get better.” So, keep showing up.

HERE WAS MY CONVERSATION:
ME: When are your desired times to workout?
HER: Never 🤣 i just want to wake up and be in amazing shape
ME: haha, nice! that would be one heck of a sleep!
HER: I’m willing to put in the extra time if needed when it comes to sleep 😬
(some rabbling about getting her connected to my FB Groups)
ME: Just approved your invite… you’ll see people who have done the workouts, and post. Once they do, I give them a checkin.
HER: Ok great! That might be more my speed until i get more familiar and I’m better shape to keep up
HER: I watched a workout end of last week i think and there were a lot of different movements and pretty fast paced 😵💫 so the pause button is going to be my friend
ME: All good stuff. I think you have a great mindset, just keep doing what you can, and eventually you’ll be able to do more… the trick is consistency. Always have your designated times, whether you do the entire hour or not, maybe 20 minutes one day, 60 the next, 30 the next… just be consistent.
HER: Ok, i promise to do my best at consistency 🤞🏼
ME: My mantra is “Stay Positive & Keep Practicing” … just the fact that we’re practicing means we’re trying to get better.
HER: I love that!! For some reason I’ve never thought of working out as practicing, but yet you practice for all other sports/activities, so it def makes sense and is a lot less daunting(some more rabbling about family and done with having kids. She’s got 3)
ME: Alright, well, sounds like on to taking care of YOU, now!
HER: I’m really hoping so. Thank you for reaching out and i look forward to the push to healthy
ME: Turn that hope into reality… just takes a decision… and I’m here for you along with so many trainers here at CG! Think about inviting someone along with you! Get a battle buddy! Your husband or a friend!!
